Adrian Allinson was a British painter, sculptor, draughtsman and poster designer. Born in London. He initially studied medicine, but gave this up to study art at the Slade School of Fine Art, 1910–12, where he was a member of a notable group of students working under Henry Tonks, Philip Wilson Steer, Fred Brown and Walter Westley Russell. He won a Slade Scholarship. and at various times he taught drawing and painting at Westminster School of Art, designed posters for British Railways and was scenic designer for the Beecham Opera Company. Exhibited RA, NEAC, RBA, ROI, Leicester Galleries and Fine Art Society, which put on a retrospective of Allinson's work in 1984.
